Nominations can be submitted solely by nominators, who are respected experts in their fields. They must hold at least a Ph.D. degree and have a minimum of ten years' experience since publishing their first scientific paper. Process and deadlines
The selection of awardees follows two steps.
Nominees are brought to the attention of the scientific committee by a network of respected senior scientists across the globe. Such nominations must be received by July 31, 2021.
Subsequently, eligible candidates will be invited to submit their application to the contest. An application consists of a structured CV of the candidate including a list of publications and the scientific project/idea (max. 4 pages), both in English. The project that the scientist dreams to solve must be in the field of chemistry or a chemistry-related discipline. Deadline for the applications is August 31, 2021.
Ideas of projects submitted to the contest are expected to address major/global challenges, but do not need to have a high implementation potential today. Novel strategies proposed, as well as unique ways and original approaches to solving the problem will be viewed favorably during the evaluation process.
The Scientific Committee will shortlist five finalists by October 1, 2021. All finalists will be invited to present their projects to the Scientific Committee, who will select the DCA Laureate. Presentations of the Finalists will be held at IOCB Prague on December 6, 2021 and the Laureate will be announced on December 7, 2021. The Laureate will deliver a lecture about her/his research on December 7, 2021.
The Finalists will receive Dream Chemistry Top 5 prize of €1,000 each. The Laureate of the Dream Chemistry Award will be awarded a prize of €10,000 and a Dream Chemistry Award statuette.
